It is either probed with suspicion or with doubt or with confusion. Nevertheless, it has been privileged to be caressed by the most brilliant and responsible hands from the past, that it has laid a strong footing for the posterity. The conflict between ‘theory and practice’ is what, that has kept the debate alive till date (whether dance research is mandatory or even essential for that matter for dance practitioners). The need for research does not seem to be questioned in any other discipline whatsoever.
Noopura Bhramari, initiated its activities as a bi-monthly magazine 11 years before and became a milestone in Cultural Journalism. Since then, different aspects in the field of art has been specially located and published. Among them, a directory on dance/Yakshagana research work done by various researchers of the various universities in and around Karnataka was prominent. This work helped not only on availing references for research, but also eliminating the possibilities of duplication in the research topics.The other important initiatives are documenting the 100 years of development in Dance styles, group interview of artistes portraying Yakshagana female characters and documenting its different aspects; publishing write-ups, articles, dance poetry and research based papers that express contemporary thoughts and show different dimensions.This journal is platform for Shastra+Prayoga= to emphasize the relationship between practice and theory. It is providing opportunity for Art and its relevance, social communication, to discuss pros and cons of various issues, and discussion. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ, ಹಿರಿಯ ತಲೆಮಾರಿನ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ. ಶೇಷ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಅವರದ್ದು ಮೇಲ್ಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹೆಸರು. ಅವರ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೃತಿ ‘ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವೀರಗಲ್ಲುಗಳು’ ಶೋಧsಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆ. ಅದೂ ತನ್ನ ೩ನೇ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ವಿಷಯ. ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯೊಂದು ಮರುಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗೊಳ್ಳುವಷ್ಟು ಅರ್ಹತೆ, ಜನಾದರ ಹೊಂದಿರುವುದಾದರೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರ ಶೋಧಲೇಖನ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತಿಗಳೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ. ನೂಪುರ ಭ್ರಮರಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಮಟ್ಟದ ನೃತ್ಯಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ವಿಚಾರಸಂಕಿರಣದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹಲವು ನಿರ್ದೇಶನಗಳನ್ನಿತ್ತವರು ಇವರೇ- ಡಾ. ಶೇಷಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ. ಅವರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ನುಡಿಗಳು ‘ನೂಪುರಾಗಮ’ದಲ್ಲಿ ಸವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾಗಿ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿವೆ ಕೂಡಾ. ನೂಪುರ ಭ್ರಮರಿಯೊಂದಿಗಿನ ನಂಟು, ಅದರ ಸದಸ್ಯರೊಂದಿಗಿನ ಒಡನಾಟ- ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೆ ನಾವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸದಾಕಾಲಕ್ಕೂ ಋಣಿ. ಇನ್ನೇನು ಸದ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಭಿನಂದನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭವೂ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿ ಇತಿಹಾಸಕಾರರಿಂದ ನೆರವೇರಲಿಕ್ಕಿದೆ.ತೆಲುಗು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ-ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ- ಶಾಸನಾಧ್ಯಯನದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಅಪಾರವಿದೆ. ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕನ್ನಡ-ತೆಲುಗಿನ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಕೊಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿಕೆ, ಸಹಸಂಬಂಧಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರ ನೋಟ ಬಹಳ ಅಪ್ಯಾಯಮಾನವಾದ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ನೃತ್ಯಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ವಿಚಾರಸಂಕಿರಣದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯ ವೇಳೆ ವಿದ್ವಾಂಸರಾದ ಡಾ.ಪಿ.ಎಸ್.ಅಪ್ಪಾರಾಯರ ತೆಲುಗು ನಾಟ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾರಣಾಂತರಗಳಿಂದ ಅದು ಲಂಬಿಸಿದೆ. ಆದರೇನಾಯಿತು, ಇದೀಗ ಅದರ ಕೊರತೆಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬುವಂತೆ ಜಾಯಪಸೇನಾಪತಿಯ ಅನರ್ಘ್ಯ ನೃತ್ಯಲಕ್ಷಣರತ್ನವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ತರಲು ಅವರೇ ಸ್ವಯಂಪ್ರೇರಿತರಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದು ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾಗ್ಯವಲ್ಲದೇ ಮತ್ತೇನು?ಈ ಯೋಜನೆ ಕೈಗೂಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಶಿಯಲ್ ಮೀಡಿಯಾದ ನೆರವಿದೆ. ನೂಪುರ ಭ್ರಮರಿಯ ಬಳಗದ ವಾಟ್ಸಾಪ್ ಗ್ರೂಪ್ ‘ಕಲಾಕೀಲಕ’ದ ಸದಸ್ಯರೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಡಾ ಶೇಷ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಅವರು, ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಬಳಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಬಂದ ನೃತ್ತ ರತ್ನಾವಳಿಯ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಲು ತಮಗೆ ತಾವೇ ಬದ್ಧವಾದುದ್ದರ ಫಲವೇ ಈ ಅಂಕಣ. ತೆಲುಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಳ್ಲಪಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಂತಕೃಷ್ಣ ಶರ್ಮರು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿz ಜಾಯಪಸೇನಾಪತಿಯ ನೃತ್ತರತ್ನಾವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಯಥಾವತ್ತಾಗಿ ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯವಿದು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಕೃತ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ನೃತ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ, ಸಂಶೋಧನಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಹುಮುಖದ ಉಪಯೋಗ ಖಂಡಿತಾ ದೊರೆಯಲಿದೆ.‘ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಭಾಷಾನುವಾದ ಮಾಡುವುದಷ್ಟೇ ನನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸ, ಅದರ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಕ್ರೆಡಿಟ್ ರಾಳ್ಲಪಲ್ಲಿಯವರಿಗೇ ಸಲ್ಲಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ’ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಪದೇ ಪದೇ ನೆನಪಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಇರುವ ಶೇಷ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಅವರದ್ದು ‘ವಿದ್ಯೆಗೆ ವಿನಯವೇ ಭೂಷಣ’ ಎಂಬ ಗುಣಶ್ರೀ. ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಘಟಿಸಬಹುದಾದ ಭಾಷಾಂತರ ಲೋಪವೋ ಅಥವೋ ಕೈಬರೆವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಾಗಬಹುದಾದ ದೋಷಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾವರಿಸುವ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಬಹುಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು; ಆ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬಹುದಾದ, ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿಗಳನ್ನೋ, ಸುಧಾರಿತ ನೃತ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನೋ ಸೇರಿಸಬಹುದಾದ ಅವಕಾಶವೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರೆತಿದೆ. ಆ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗಿನ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆಂಬುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾಗ್ಯವೇ ಸರಿ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಡಾ. ಶೇಷ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಮತ್ತು ನೂಪುರ ಭ್ರಮರಿಯ ಸಮಾನಶೀಲರು ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರಿಗೂ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳು.ಅಂಕಣದ ಮೊದಲನೇಯ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಳ್ಲಪಲ್ಲಿ ಶರ್ಮರು ಬರೆದ ಉಪೋದ್ಘಾತ ಮತ್ತು ಅದನ್ನನುಸರಿಸಿದ ನೃತ್ತರತ್ನಾವಳಿಯ ನಾಂದಿಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳು ಇವೆ. ಅಕ್ಷರಭ್ರಮರಿಯ ಈ ನುಡಿಜಾತ್ರೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದಷ್ಟು ಸಂಚಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೃತ್ತರತ್ನಾವಳಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲು.- ಸಂಪಾದಕಿ
